My name is Mrs. KayLisha L. Newsome, I am honored to serve as your son/daughters’ interim principal for the 21-22 school year pending school board approval. I am very excited to have this opportunity. I am looking forward to getting to know each and every family and stakeholder. I am originally from Omaha, NE. I have been a part of the Tulsa Public Schools family going on 4 years. I am married to an awesome 20-year military vet, who is now serving as a Federal Police Officer, here in Tulsa. We have a total of 6 children, ranging from 6-16.
I am excited for this new year as it will bring forth a lot of growth and change. In order to grow, one must change. Change is not a negative, rather a positive movement toward growing and developing. As a family/community we will grow and we will change for the better, ensuring that all students are given the opportunity to succeed. We will inspire those around us to change for the better.
During my first 100 days in the building, I plan to work on staff development, effective communication, review all pertinent data about the school, get involved in the community, meet and greet parents and students, and much more. Should you have questions, comments, or concerns throughout the year please feel free to call or email. Again, I am honored to be your son/daughters’ interim principal for the 21-22 school year. Thank you so much for your support in advance. Feel free to reach out.
