I grew up in Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma State University for my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. I attended Arkansas State University for my M.Ed. I have been working in Tulsa Public Schools since 2011. I was a classroom teacher and assistant principal at Hawthorne Elementary before becoming the principal. Hawthorne Elementary has a special place with me. It is the same elementary school I attended as a child.
This year, I celebrate 22 years in Education. I started my career in Kansas as an elementary teacher then moved into middle school focusing on English Language Arts. Six years ago, my family moved to Oklahoma where I joined the Tulsa Public Schools team. I have served at Hawthorne Elementary for all of those years as an Academic Engagement teacher before becoming the Assistant Principal in 2017. I completed my undergraduate degree at Newman University in Kansas, my Master’s degree at the University of Phoenix and my Ed.S. at Walden University.
